私の好きな英語のことわざ

日本語同様、英語のことわざにも深いもの、洒落たもの、皮肉ったものなどいろいろあります。私が好きなのは、「前向きになれるもの」や「心が軽くなるもの」のようです。

　　物事や人を見かけで判断するな。

　　人は一人では生きていけない。

☆Practice makes perfect.
　　練習が完璧な腕前を作る。

☆Art is long, life is short.
　　技術を習得するには時間がかかり、それを学ぶのに人の一生といえども短い。

☆Better late than never.
　　遅くなっても何もないよりはまし。

☆Man does not live by bread alone.
　　人はパンのみにて生くるにあらず。

☆Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
　　卵がかえる前にひよこの数を数えるな。

☆Easy come, Easy go.
　　得やすいものは失いやすい。

☆The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
　　隣の芝生は青く見える。

　　何でもこなす者は名人にはなれない。

会話の中で、英語のことわざをさらっと口に出せたらかっこいいですよね。悩んでいる友達に教えてあげるのもいいし、自分の心に言い聞かせるのも効きますよ。
